Aaron Palmer

Mr. Aaron Palmer is the owner of Move Baby, Move!, a local, regional, and national award-winning chair exercise program designed to help elderly and disabled individuals stay physically active. He founded MB MOVEMENT, a 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization in 2020 to help people enjoy increased quality of life and prevent premature institutionalization. Mr. Palmer has over 30 years of experience as an executive and entrepreneur in the health and fitness industry. He has a Bachelor of Science in Health Science from San Jose State University. Additionally, he is a graduate of the University of California Berkeley Hass School of Business Fast Track I Program, and the University of New Orleans Fast Track II Business Development Programs. He is a personal trainer and 3rd degree Black Belt who owned and operated the Woodmere Karate Academy in New Orleans, LA. Mr. Palmer enjoys scuba diving, aviation, and baseball in his spare time.


Derrick Edwards

Derrick Edwards, Esq. grew up with a childhood dream of making a difference in the lives of others in Louisiana and throughout the United States. He overcame many trials and tribulations and focused on education to achieve his dream of becoming the first individual in his family to practice law as an attorney. Mr. Edwards is an individual of strong faith, perseverance, and an extremely hard worker. He experienced a spinal cord injury playing football in high school which left him paralyzed and in a wheelchair.

After the injury, Mr. Edwards graduated from Tulane University, A.B. Freeman School of Business in May 1997 receiving a Bachelor of Science in Management with a concentration in Accounting. In May 1998, he graduated from Tulane University with a Masters in Accounting. After receiving his Masters in Accounting Degree, Mr. Edwards attended Loyola University School of Law and graduated in May 2003. As a practicing attorney, he makes a profound difference in the lives of his clients. Mr. Edwards also positively impacts the community by speaking at schools, churches, and hospitals about accomplishing one's dreams and goals in life by never giving up.


Vera Warren Williams

Vera Williams has always been passionate about the preservation and celebration of African cultural heritage. As a substitute teacher, she founded Community Book Center while working to provide books, educational materials, and cultural resources to area students, parents and educators which highlighted the true history and contributions African people have made to world civilization. What began as a home based community service nearly 40 years ago, Community Book Center continues to serve New Orleans and the world. Vera is a 1976 graduate of McDonogh#35 Senior High and received her Bachelor of Social Work (1981) and Master of Arts in Museum Studies (2018) both from Southern University in New Orleans.

Senior Wellness in Action is our premier program that helps older adults (ages 60+) enjoy a better quality of life through exercise. Older adults participate in the American Heart Association endorsed Move Baby, Move! chair exercise. Senior Wellness In Action engages participants in exercises that increase their ability to perform activities of daily living (ADLs) and health-related education. The program is available both in-person and through Zoom for individuals, independent senior living communities, adult day care, and assisted-living facilities.
